From the days as a small family farm of a handful of employees to our current state with several hundred employees, our mission and values have remained the same; our people and our company. From our field workers, truck drivers, water samplers, and office staff to our chef, we have always appreciated their devotion to our company and they are all considered part of the family.
Trent was born into the RFI family in 1967 and has remained a true farming visionary his entire life. He has and continues to turn the art of agriculture into a multifaceted, efficient business for the way food is grown. His leadership drives the team forward and makes dreams become reality. His favorite lunch is Sara’s reuben sandwiches and he spends his very little free time cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Todd came into the RFI family 1969 and pursued a career in teaching. It wasn’t long after that he followed his heart and decided to go back to his roots of farming. There isn’t a thing Todd can’t fix. He’s a true outdoorsman and enjoys reloading his own ammo for when hunting season comes around.
Tracy is the oldest Rothert sibling and the problem solver. No challenge is too great for her to tackle. She keeps the office in check and keeps a realistic outlook on life. Tracy is fascinated with the RFI genealogy, and loves learning about her family history. Outside the office, she can be found in the field eating tomatoes straight from the vine (yes, they’re that good!) and enjoys hiking nature trails in her spare time.
The next generation of RFI farmers was born when Jake Rothert came into the world. A proud Michigan State graduate in Ag-Business, Jake has taken his knowledge in farming and applied it to developing his own lettuce program which has grown significantly in just a few short years. Jake is one of the youngest on the team and has big dreams for the family business.
Susie married Paul Rothert at the age of 17 and never looked back. She has a true eye for beauty and has played an essential part in designing the farm’s office and even built its internal fireplace with her own two hands. She’s the biological mother of Tracy, Trent, and Todd Rothert, and a mother figure to the rest of the RFI team.
Scotty Bockbrader is one of those guys that shows up and helps out whenever there's a need, no matter what the job is. Whether it's working in the field or hauling grain, Scotty is always on board. He's a valuable asset to the RFI team.
Antonio manages the cabbage planting and harvesting crews and has been a part of the RFI team for over 15 years.
Before working in the fields of RFI, Angie worked in the field of education for over 20 years. Her positivity and great attention to detail makes the office a fun working environment. When she’s not in the office, Angie can be found teaching fitness classes and attending her kids’ activities.
Roberto Francisco Cruz
Allie joined the dream team in 2019 and loves getting involved in various RFI projects. She’s a passionate learner, webmaster, and design guru. She’s an active marathon runner, classical pianist, and enjoys craft beer off the clock.
Sara is skilled at many things, but nothing compares to her gift for creating delicious meals. She has a true knack for cooking and incorporates many of RFI’s crops into the farmer’s favorite meals. Sara is also a technology whiz and can be found navigating new computer software programs in the office.
Jose Lupe Gonzalez
Jason’s expertise is in drywall, but he really can fix anything. His main priority is keeping RFI’s properties ready for inspection. His true loves are his dachshund pups.
RFI puts its trust in Scot to coordinate, transport, and deliver its most valuable crops and equipment around the nation. Scot’s sense of humor makes the long days in the field much shorter. Even though he’s the pickiest eater, he loves hamburger day at the farm.
Danny, aka the “OG” RFI farmer joined the team back in the early 70s. He’s retired three times, but finds himself supervising the fields from afar. His favorite meal is Sara’s cheeseburgers.
Bryan brings a lot to the table with his bilingual skills in English and in Spanish. His high energy is infectious, which makes him an excellent leader in and out of the field. He never passes up Sara’s jalapeño poppers.
Alejandro Martinez has worked for RFI for many years. He has been a reliable leader for harvest crews in Ohio and Florida for a variety of crops. Alejandro enjoys fishing and spending time with his family when he's not working long hours at RFI.
Hanai Martinez started working full time for RFI in 2019 managing the product sampling process meeting food safety guidelines. In her free time, Hanai loves to spend time with her family and go fishing.
Carolyn organizes and compiles the payroll data from the Florida farm. Carolyn contributes to the seamless flow of accurate information that makes it all work!
Leslie manages the Florida farm operation. With his years of expertise, infinite knowledge in growing cabbage, and attention to detail, Leslie is an absolute essential part of the RFI team.
Cameron was born with a passion for agriculture and became RFI’s agronomist in 2016. A graduate of Ohio State University, he’s brought his expertise in soil management and crop rotation to the farm, making sure the plants remain as healthy as possible throughout the planting season. Aside from farming, Cameron and his wife Katelyn are expecting their first baby in the coming months.
A farmer at heart since a young age, Ryan finally pursued his career at RFI in 2019. His hard work ethic allows him to help out in many different areas of the farm. Whether it’s transporting crops, planting, or trying Sara’s new recipes, Ryan gets the job done.
